This study explores the sustainable potential of babool (Acacia nilotica) bark as a natural dye for cotton fabrics, employing biomordants like harad fruit to enhance colorfastness properties. The methodology includes preparing dye extracts through controlled aqueous processes, pre-treating cotton fabrics with biomordants, and optimizing dyeing conditions to achieve vibrant and durable results. Evaluation of colorfastness to sunlight, washing, rubbing, and perspiration demonstrates excellent to very good performance, affirming babool bark's viability as an eco-friendly dye alternative. This approach aligns with global sustainability goals by reducing reliance on synthetic dyes, minimizing environmental impact, and offering a biodegradable, non-toxic solution to meet the textile industry's growing demand for sustainable practices.
