The global textile industry plays a vital role in the world economy, with textile auxiliaries being crucial to enhancing the functionality, durability, and sustainability of textile products. This study investigates the awareness and perception about textile auxiliaries among retailers, specifically focusing on the Hisar district of Haryana, India. The research was conducted at CCS Haryana Agricultural University, with a sample of 30 students from graduate and post-graduate degree programs. A structured questionnaire was used to collect data on the use patterns and awareness of textile auxiliaries, such as stiffening, whitening, bluing agents and other commonly used textile auxiliaries in laundry. The findings underscore the need for greater awareness and education on the benefits of textile auxiliaries. This research emphasizes the role of innovation and sustainability in the textile retail sector, and suggests that enhanced consumer education and retailer adoption of green practices are essential for meeting evolving market demands. The study revealed that there was significant awareness about whitening agents (80%) whereas awareness of stiffening agents (33.33%) was much lower. Retailers reported high level of satisfaction with herbal surfactants as the most popular product, and promotions like discounts and cashbacks were commonly used to promote sales. The results of the study highlight that due to the growing importance of sustainability, consumers are preferring eco-friendly textile auxiliaries.
